Founding Principles
In 1974, George Weissenberger founded
MEI to provide installation and system
preventative maintenance service to
companies using bulk storage and
pneumatic conveying in a variety of industries.
The result George saw was that many of his customers
were experiencing a high level of system failure that
stemmed from systems not designed to be maintained.
Joined by his son Mark, a mechanical engineer, they
began developing systems engineered for life.
Range of Products
Today Modern Equipment Incorporated
(MEI) is a major participant in the material
handling industry. Our systems have the
highest non-failure rate in the industry. The
company designs and installs pneumatic conveying,
bulk storage, and batching control systems for the
textile, plastic and baking industries, as well as others.
Many of our projects include system retrofits, upgrades,
and interfaces with material handling equipment,
regardless of original supplier or manufacturer.
